For years, Scendro was one of the most striking and promising young stallions in Belgium. The results speak for themselves: Belgian Champion for five-year-olds and in the same year also finalist at the World Championships, a year later finalist at the Belgian Championships for six-year-olds and so on. It seemed to be the start of an exceptional jumping career, but unfortunately an injury threw a spanner in the works. Fortunately, his abnormal jumping qualities have been saved for breeding.
Scendro’s first major crop was born in 2014 and is eager to break through in sport. His offspring can be found at almost all important international competitions. For example, Sabucci De Muze, Scarlina de Tiji, Sensei Z, Omar vd Hunters, Obsession DV and Orage Optimus are already active at 1.50m level. Many Scendro’s have also been approved for stud service by various studbooks, despite a limited number of offspring. Currently in the limelight is top offspring ”Ionesco Sitte” proving himself hugely consistent and competitive with Tal Milstein.
This is not surprising if we take a closer look at his pedigree. Sire Scendix descends from Stakkato and jumped at the highest level under Eric Lamaze. Dam Coletha (by Contendro I) was named Hanoverian mare of the year in 2021 because of her exceptional breeding power and, in addition to Scendro, also produced the 1.60m horse Scenletha ridden by Jack Whitaker and Scendro II v/d Hunters, respectively the full sister and brother of Scendro.
