The ultimate multi-discipline sire. O Combo de L’eau is a magnificent horse, the first ever coloured stallion to be graded Gold Elite by British Showjumping. He has had a hugely successful young horse career consistently placed in all his international young horse classes at home and abroad. He later went on to jump internationally in Nations Cups and was a European Young Rider Class medal winner.
The handsome Belgian-bred stallion with Concorde/Samber bloodlines joined Pennie’s Greenacres Equestrian as a two-year-old and was one of the first noticeable warmblood coloured horses jumping to success. Always considered a gentleman at home, at a show and in his stud career, he began competitive life with Phillip Miller in British novice but was mainly ridden by Pennie, at first catching people’s eye in four and five-year-old style and performance classes and going on to qualify for the 2004 HOYS Foxhunter and AON six-year-old finals. He was placed in both with Robert Smith in the saddle. Ryan Prater jumped him in young riders in the 2005/06 seasons but it was with Pennie he gained his most notable successes in area trials and 1.40m classes on the county circuit.
